Contrary to popular belief, Pinterest’s recognizes & rewards users that are on the platform organically. So try to jump on daily even if for 5 minutes, to re-pin or upload & pin original content, or simply find content to add to your scheduler Tailwind or Boardbooster. So pin in both real time & schedule pins for optimized results (with the powerful smart feed on your side).

TIP TWO: SET UP RICH PINS

Often overlooked & yet one of the most important to securing up a strong foundation for your brand presence & visibility on Pinterest. Rich pins are regular pins, yet more professional, giving the Pinterest seal of approval to pins. They include extra data below the pin image. Your website name in larger, bold text, a brief description of extra details from your website (product details, location etc) and your logo (favicon). Today, February 22nd 2017, Pinterest has released their Promoted Pin ads in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. 3 VERY HAPPY nations of Pinterest Business owners & users are rejoicing as I write this (it can’t just be me, right?).

So why is it such an exciting change on the Pinterest platform? Small Business owners, large corporates, entrepreneurs, bloggers listen up!

Here are a just a few SMALL reasons:

U.K. and Ireland country manager Adele Cooper announced the feature’s international expansion in a blog post. The social network has more than 150 million users globally, and more than 100 billion ideas have been generated.

In Ireland:

  • Monthly active users grew by more than 25% last year
  • 200K ideas are saved each day in Ireland
  • Top categories include: fashion, hair and beauty, DIY projects, home decor and food

In Australia:

  • Monthly active users grew by more than 20% last year
  • 2 million ideas are saved each day in Australia
  • Top categories include: DIY projects, food and drink, fashion, art and home decor

In New Zealand:

  • Monthly active users grew by more than 25% last year
  • 400K ideas are saved each day in New Zealand
  • Top categories include: DIY projects, home decor, food and drink, fashion and art

 

About half of the Active Pinners who have noticed Promoted Pins on Pinterest have clicked on them to get more information. More than 40% have made a purchase, suggesting Promoted Pins inspire future action.*

Active Pinners are more likely to see themselves as trend seekers, and believe Pinterest is a great resource for trends, styles, and new things to try.

 

IMPORTANT FACT: Of the 150Million users, 93% have used Pinterest to plan for purchases. 89% have purchased something new they saw on Pinterest.*

 

Mary Meeker, a trusted annual reporter of detailed Internet trends provides an in-depth look at Internet growth and consumer behaviors across key marketing touchpoints. The 2016 report revealed that 55% of Pinners use the platform to find and shop for products compared to only 12% on Facebook and 12% on Instagram and Twitter comes in at 9%.  Wowser! That means people on Pinterest are more than 400% more likely to shop on Pinterest compared to the other socials.

Promoted Pins are making it easier for brands to reach people who are looking for inspiration from credible sources. Ads on Pinterest don’t get in the way of what people came to do, they actually help them get it done!*

Pinterest Users are More likely to be affluent. 45% have household incomes of at least $60k, with showing growth the $60-100k range of household income.*

 

Seeking out what’s new

Active Pinners continue to be significantly more likely than non-Pinners to see themselves as early adopters (42% vs 31%). They’re also more apt to see themselves as trend seekers, and view Pinterest as a top resource for information on trends, styles, and new things to do and try.

 

More mobile and shopping

Active Pinners are significantly more likely than regular consumers to own and use mobile devices. A whopping 85% own and use a smartphone, and 73% have bought something because they saw it on Pinterest.
